SPARKILL, N.Y. – The Caldwell College women's tennis team defeated St. Thomas Aquinas College, 7-2 in a non-conference dual Thursday afternoon in Sparkill, N.Y. The win gives the Cougars a 2-6 record on the season, while the Spartans complete their season with a 2-10 record.

Caldwell won all three doubles matches to lead 3-0. Sophomore Briana Gaspich (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) and freshman Emily Slater (Cliffwood Beach, NJ/Old Bridge) were victorious at No. 1 doubles, sophomores Gwynne and Paige Alden (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) won at No. 2 doubles, and the No. 3 doubles team of senior Danielle Levasseur (Eastport, NY/Eastport South) and sophomore Alyssa Brillante (Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) won their first match of the season.

In singles play, Slater, Gwynne Alden, Paige Alden and Gaspich helped the Cougars win their matches at the top four positions.

Caldwell plays at Philadelphia University on Friday, Oct. 12, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
