Caldwell Edged by Post in Men's Soccer, 2-1

WATERBURY, Conn. – The Caldwell College men's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game to Post University, 2-1 at Lamoy Field Thursday afternoon. The Cougars are now 4-6-1 overall and 3-3 in league play, while the Eagles improve to 8-2-3, 5-0-3 CACC to remain atop the conference standings.

Post found the net early, getting a goal from Francis Eno in the eighth minute for a 1-0 lead. The score didn't change until the final minute of play, when Raphael Moura tallied an insurance goal. With just three seconds on the clock, Caldwell was awarded a penalty kick, which was converted by senior forward Facundo Zalazar (Buenos Aires City, Argentina/San Agustin) for his team-leading sixth goal of the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Michael Hartmann (Medford, NJ/Shawnee) recorded four saves in goal for Caldwell, while Andre Lindsay had three saves for Post, which held a narrow 14-11 advantage in shots.

The Cougars continue CACC play with a game at Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday, Oct. 13. Kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m. in Wilmington, Del.
