CALDWELL MEN'S SOCCER TIES QUEENS, 1-1

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team played Queens College to a 1-1 tie in a non-conference game Thursday afternoon at Queens. The result gives the Cougars a 4-4-1 record on the season, while the Knights are now 3-4-1. The game was delayed for 45 minutes due to lightning midway through the first half.

The game remained scoreless late into the second half until Queens' Peter Touros found the net in the 76th minute for a 1-0 lead. Caldwell responded in the 84th minute, when freshman midfielder Tim Centineo (Holmdel, NJ/Holmdel) set up sophomore midfielder Kristopher Bistre (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) on a short corner kick that resulted in Bistre's first goal of the season. With the score tied at 1-1, the game went into overtime, with neither team scoring in either 10-minute overtime period.

Junior goalkeeper Brian Agostini (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) had six saves in goal for the Cougars, while Demetrios Touros recorded six saves for Queens.

Caldwell plays a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game at Chestnut Hill College on Saturday, Oct. 1, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa.
