CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team lost a close dual to East Stroudsburg University, 5-4 in non-conference action Monday afternoon at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts. The Cougars, who had won their past two duals, are now 2-3 overall, while the Warriors improve to 1-1.

East Stroudsburg won two of the three doubles matches, including a narrow 9-8 decision in a tie-breaker at second doubles. Senior Olga Ndhlovu (Bergenfield, NJ/Bergenfield) and freshman Briana Gaspich (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) remained unbeaten on the season with their fifth victory at No. 3 doubles. In singles, Gaspich was victorious at fourth singles, while seniors Sara Wilkins (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Amanda Berry (Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) won their matches at third and fifth singles, respectively. The dual hinged on tie-breaker matches at second and sixth singles, with the Warriors winning both to take a 5-4 victory.

Caldwell returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual at Georgian Court University.
