WILMINGTON TOPS COUGARS IN MEN'S SOCCER, 3-1

WILMINGTON, Del. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game to Wilmington University, 3-1 Saturday afternoon at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex. The Cougars fall to 6-7-2 on the season, including a 3-5-1 mark in the conference, while the Wildcats are now 8-6-4 overall, 7-2-2 CACC.

Wilmington opened the scoring with an unassisted goal by Eddie Kowalo in the 15th minute. Ray Kuemmer made it 2-0 Wildcats with a goal in the 26th minute. Shortly after halfime, the Cougars cut the lead in half with a goal by freshman defender Steve Petrosino (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) off an assist by sophomore forward Mosiah Whyte (Coram, NY/Newfield) on a free kick. Caldwell pressed for the equalizer but were unsuccessful, eventually surrendering a goal by Tom Quaranta in the 89th minute.

Junior goalkeeper Brian Agostini (N. Caldwell, NJ/West Essex) recorded seven saves in goal for Caldwell, while Russell Dobos had three saves for Wilmington.

The Cougars play at Felician College on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in an important CACC contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. in Lyndhurst, N.J.
