CALDWELL MEN'S SOCCER WINS AT PHILADELPHIA, 1-0

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Freshman midfielder Kristopher Bistre (Staten Island, NY/St. Peter's) scored the game's only goal to give the Caldwell College men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon at Riverhill Field. The win is the first in conference play this season for the Cougars, who are now 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the CACC. The Rams fall to 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in league play.

Bistre broke a scoreless tie in the 39th minute with a shot from 30 yards out that beat Philadelphia goalkeeper Jason Barber for a 1-0 lead. The Cougar defense and junior goalkeeper John Londono (West New York, NJ/Memorial) made the lead stand, with Londono finishing with six saves for his first shutout of the season. Both of Bistre's goals this season have been game-winning goals, as the freshman also tallied the decisive goal in a 2-1 double-overtime win at Bloomsburg University on Sept. 8.

The Cougars return home to take on Concordia College in a CACC game on Tuesday, Sept. 21. The contest is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
