PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Caldwell College men's soccer team completed the 2009 season with a 6-1 loss to Holy Family University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match Saturday afternoon. The Cougars end the year with a 3-12-1 record, including a 3-8 mark in conference play, while the Tigers improve to 11-5-1, 7-3-1 CACC.
Holy Family received three goals from Seydou Ba, who tallied the first two goals of the game in the fourth and 16th minutes. Jeffrey Wimsey and Ryan McNamee each had a goal and an assist, while Tim Weglicki recorded two assists. Caldwell's goal was scored by freshman Nick Bibbs (Ardmore, PA/Lower Merion) in the 47th minute on a shot from 20 yards out.
Sophomore goalkeeper John Londono (West New York, NJ/Memorial) played the first half and made two saves, and junior goalkeeper Steve DeAngelis (Saddle Brook, NJ/Saddle Brook) had one save in relief. The game was called in the 72nd minute due to poor field conditions. Tigers' goalkeeper Mark Ferretti made three saves.
This is the first year since the 2002 season that the Cougars did not qualify for the CACC Tournament.
