WATERBURY, Conn. - The Caldwell College Tennis team won its second consecutive dual on Wednesday, defeating Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual in Waterbury, Conn. The Cougars, who beat Molloy College on Monday for their first victory of the season, are now 2-9 overall and 1-4 in the CACC.
Caldwell won all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead. Junior Chiaki Saito (Tokyo, Japan) and freshman Olga Ndhlovu (Bergenfield, NJ/Bergenfield) outlasted Leah McQueeny and Kelsey Jacovich, 8-8 (10-7) to take the match at No. 1 doubles. Ndhlovu also won her singles match in straight sets at No. 2 singles. Sophomores Kirsty Leedham (Ellesmere Port, England/Cheshire Acad.) and Suzanne Dragovcic (Barnegat, NJ/Southern Reg.), pictured, and senior Mackenzie Lynch (Wayne, NJ/DePaul Catholic) also were victorious at third, fourth and fifth singles, respectively.
The Cougars are back in action on Thursday, Oct. 9, when they play at St. Thomas Aquinas College in a non-conference dual.
