BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - Terrence Joseph's tally in the 86th minute gave Concordia College a 1-0 victory over Caldwell College in a non-conference men's soccer game Saturday afternoon. The loss ends the Cougars' four-game winning streak and drops their overall record to 4-2-2 on the season, while the Clippers snap a four-game losing string to improve to 2-6.
With less than four and a half minutes to go in regulation, Joseph headed in a corner kick from Christian Castillo for the only goal of the game. The goal came on the Clippers' lone corner kick of the second half and just their second of the game.
Junior goalkeeper John Plaugic (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) made one save in goal for Caldwell, while Ivan Rodriguez recorded two saves to earn the shutout. For the game, Caldwell out-shot Concordia 11-6 but could not find the back of the net.
The Cougars return to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action with a home game against Post University on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
