CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team dropped a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual with Chestnut Hill College, 6-3 Wednesday afternoon at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts. The dual marks the end of the season for the Cougars, who finish the year with an overall record of 2-12 and a 1-6 mark in conference play. The Griffins improve to 8-8, 3-4 CACC.
Seniors Emilie Skidmore (Pompton Plains, NJ/Pequannock Twp.) and Patty Messick (Penns Grove, NJ/Penns Grove), right, who played in their final home matches, earned the Cougars' three points on the day. Skidmore defeated Cara Wallin, 8-4 at No. 1 singles, while Messick won her match at No. 2 singles over Landra Ginder, 9-8 (7-2). The two seniors also combined to win their match at No. 1 doubles.
Although the team schedule is complete, Skidmore and Messick will compete in the CACC Individual Tournament, beginning Friday, Oct. 19 in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
