WILMINGTON, Del. - Senior forward Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) tallied two goals and two assists, and sophomore forward Chad Bennett (Kingston, Jamaica/Campion) also scored twice as the Caldwell college men's soccer team defeated Goldey-Beacom College, 7-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Saturday afternoon at Sawin Field. The win gives the Cougars a 5-4 overall record, including a 2-2 mark in the conference, while Goldey-Beacom falls to 1-5-1, 0-2 CACC.

Bennett opened the scoring in the 11th minute, when he took a pass from freshman Justin Everett (Stewartstown, PA/Kennard Dale) and blasted a shot from 20 yards into the left side of the goal for a 1-0 lead. Dauti followed with a goal in the 38th minute off a pass from senior midfielder Jorge Ibarcena (Lima, Peru). The score remained 2-0 into the second half until the 50th minute. Sophomore defender Kagiso Rhenoster (Mafikeng, South Africa/Mmbatho) dribbled down the right side and passed the ball towards the top of Goldey-Beacom's penalty area, where sophomore forward let the pass continue to Bennett, who beat goalkeeper Rob Garofalo for his second goal of the game.

Dauti notched his second of the game and sixth of the season in the 70th minute off another pass from Ibarcena. Less than three minutes later, Ibarcena found the net when he finished a rebound off a shot by freshman Peter Carlsson (Lycke, Sweden). Dauti then set up goals by sophomore Asgeir Ofstad (Trondheim, Norway) and senior Bard Skjelstad (Bodo, Norway) in the 74th and 76th minutes, respectively.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kareem Grant (Elmont, NY/Bryant & Stratton) made five saves to earn the shutout in his first career start for Caldwell. Garofalo made eight saves while facing 25 Cougar shots.

Caldwell is back in action on Monday, Sept. 25, when the Cougars host Concordia College in a non-conference game. Game time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
