CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game to Felician College, 1-0 Wednesday afternoon at Caldwell Field. The defeat drops the Cougars to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the CACC, while the Golden Falcons improve to 2-5, 1-1 CACC.
The game's only goal came in the 53rd minute, when Jason James dribbled down the right side and shot the ball under Caldwell goalkeeper John Plaugic (Kearny, NJ/Kearny). The Cougars had chances to tie the game but were unable to convert. A free kick by senior forward Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) was on target but was tipped over the crossbar by Felician goalkeeper Paulo Dossantos. Junior midfielder Nicholas Harriott (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Campion) dribbled down the right flank and in behind the defense, but his shot went just wide of the far post.
Plaugic was credited with two saves, while Dossantos made three saves as Caldwell held a 9-7 advantage in shots.
The Cougars return to the field on Saturday, Sept. 23, when they travel to play Goldey-Beacom College in another CACC match. Game time is set for 3:00 p.m. in Wilmington, Del.
