BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team scored a pair of goals in each half to defeat Bloomfield College, 4-0 in a non-conference match Monday afternoon at Watessing Park. Four different players had goals for the Cougars, who are now 4-3 on the season. The Deacons drop to 0-6 with the loss.

Junior defender Andrew Fraser (Kingston, Jamaica/Wolmer's) put the Cougars in front just 39 seconds into the game when he headed in a free kick from senior Jorge Ibarcena (Lima, Peru). Fraser also set up Caldwell's second goal, when his long pass sent sophomore forward Luis Sartorio (Asuncion, Paraguay/St. Benedict's) in behind the defense. Sartorio crossed the ball to the far post, where sophomore midfielder Kagiso Rhenoster (Mafikeng, South Africa/Mmabatho) headed the ball into the goal in the 32nd minute. It was Rhenoster's first collegiate goal.

In the 65th minute, sophomore defender Asgeir Ofstad (Trondheim, Norway) dribbled the ball from the Cougars' back line into the Deacons' penalty area, where he passed the ball to senior forward Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange). Dauti beat Bloomfield goalkeeper Dennis Amoateng for his team-leading fourth goal of the season. Senior forward J.P. Herring (Barnegat, NJ/Southern Regional) completed the scoring by receiving a pass from sophomore Chad Bennett (Kingston, Jamaica/Campion) and blasting a shot into the left side of the goal in the 82nd minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper John Plaugic (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) made four saves to record his second shutout of the season. Amoateng and Robert Galante combined to make 12 saves for Bloomfield, which was out-shot 33-6 by Caldwell.

The Cougars are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 20, when they host Felician College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
