CALDWELL, N.J. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team opened the 2005 season with a 7-1 loss to Philadelphia University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual Wednesday afternoon at the Caldwell College Tennis Courts. The Rams, who have joined the CACC this season, improved to 3-0 on the season.
Senior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Reg.), pictured, continued her unbeaten streak in dual matches, winning at No. 1 singles over Maddie Smith, 6-2, 6-2. Manoukian turned in a perfect singles record of 11-0 in dual matches last season.
The 2005 season marks the debut of women's tennis in the CACC, which will crown a champion in the sport for the first time this year.
Caldwell returns to action this Saturday, when the Cougars travel to Wilmington, Del., to face Goldey-Beacom College at 1:00 p.m.
