HOLY FAMILY EDGES COUGARS, 5-4

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team dropped a close dual with Holy Family University, 5-4 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference meeting Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Cougars fell to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while the Tigers improved to 4-4 and 2-3 in the CACC.

 

Senior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Reg.) picked up her fifth win of the season at No. 1 singles with a straight-set victory over Quena Borres. Senior Erin O'Neill (River Edge, NJ/Barnstable Academy) and junior Danielle O'Connell (South Amboy, NJ/St. John Vianney), pictured, also earned wins at fourth and sixth singles, respectively. The Cougars' No. 2 doubles tandem of O'Connell and junior Joellen Keaney (Oak Bluffs, MA/Marthas Vineyard Reg.) also won their match. The pivotal result in the dual came at No. 3 singles, when Holy Family's Amanda Wolff won a close match with Keaney, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).

 

The Cougars' next dual is Friday, Sept. 23, when they host Dowling College at 2:00 p.m. at the Caldwell Tennis Courts.
