PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Caldwell College women's tennis team narrowly lost to the University of Sciences, 5-4 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference dual Saturday afternoon. The defeat dropped the Cougars to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the CACC.
Senior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Reg.) maintained her winning streak at No. 1 singles, defeating Sarah Leonard 6-0, 6-0 for her 15th straight victory. Junior Joellen Keaney (Oak Bluffs, MA/Marthas Vineyard Reg.) won her match in straight sets at No. 3 singles, while senior Erin O'Neill (River Edge, NJ/Barnstable Academy) was victorious at No. 4 singles in three sets. Manoukian and O'Neill combined to beat Leonard and Gabrielle Exler, 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
The Cougars return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 20, when they play at Holy Family beginning at 4:00 p.m.
