SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team lost to American International College 2-0 in a non-conference game Monday afternoon at AIC Park. The defeat drops the Cougars to 7-3-1 on the season, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 6-4-2.
After a scoreless first half, Akill Jules deflected a shot attempt by Chris Carrozza into the goal just 2:29 after the break. The Cougars pressed for the equalizer but were unable to find the net, culminating in a counter-attack goal by Norbert Dusza in the 89th minute.
Senior goalkeeper Mike Turdo (West Paterson, NJ/Passaic Valley) recorded five saves on the day, while Matt Marcoux helped keep the Cougars off the scoreboard with seven saves.
The Cougars, who are ranked fourth in the latest New England Region rankings, play at C.W. Post on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in another non-conference game. Kick-off is set for 4:00 p.m. in Brookville, N.Y.
