BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Caldwell College men's soccer team recorded a decisive 3-0 victory over Concordia College in a non-conference match Thursday afternoon. The Cougars, who are ranked ninth in the New England Region, haven't lost in their last four games and are 5-2-1 on the season. Concordia is now 0-5.
Junior Uke Dauti (West Orange, NJ/West Orange) scored the only goal the Cuogars would need in the eighth minute, when he knocked in a rebound off of a shot by sophomore Jorge Ibarcena (Lima, Peru) for his first goal of the year. Ibarcena now leads Caldwell in assists with three on the season.
Junior Kevin Libbos (Ontario, Canada/Glengarry) scored his first goal of the season when he collected a pass from freshman Christian Motte (Lima, Peru) and beat goalkeeper Afrim Lajgi in the 37th minute. The Cougars added an own goal in the 81st minute for the final score.
Freshman goalkeeper John Perehinec (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) made two saves for the shutout in his first collegiate appearance. Lajgi made four saves for Concordia.
The Cougars host Goldey-Beacom on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 2:00 p.m. in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match at Caldwell Field.
