FELICIAN NIPS COUGARS IN MEN'S SOCCER

CALDWELL, N.J. - Dario Fiorino scored on a free kick in the 82nd minute to give Felician a 1-0 win over Caldwell College Tuesday afternoon at Caldwell Field. The Cougars dropped to 2-2 on the season after losing their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener to Felician, which improved to 1-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the CACC.

Fiorino's game-winner was set up when Felician's Nick Levinson was fouled just outside of Caldwell's penalty area straight out from the goal. Fiorino blasted a shot that Cougars goalkeeper Mike Turdo (West Paterson, NJ/Passaic Valley) got a hand on but he was unable to keep the ball from going into the left corner of the goal.

Turdo made one save for the Cougars, while Felician's Nick Lyons earned the shutout by making two saves.

The Caldwell College men's soccer team, which is ranked eighth in the New England Region in the latest NSCAA/adidas Regional Rankings, will host LIU-Southampton on Thursday in a non-conference match. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. at Caldwell Field.
