The Caldwell College women's tennis team swept all six singles matches en route to an 8-1 victory over Holy Family Monday afternoon. The win keeps the Cougars unbeaten in four matches, with a record of 3-0-1 on the season.
Caldwell's No. 1 doubles team of senior Stacie Zafiris (Palisades Park, NY/Palisades Park) and junior Oksana Manoukian (Old Tappan, NJ/Rutgers) easily won its match, 8-1. At No. 2 doubles, sophomore Joellen Keaney (Oak Bluffs, MA/Marthas Vineyard Regional) and junior Erin O'Neill (River Edge, NJ/Barnstable Academy) battled to win 9-7 over Jaime Hill and Bridget Lavin of Holy Family.
In singles, Manoukian, Zafiris, Keaney and O'Neill each won their matches in straight sets, with Manoukian blanking Amanda Wolff 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Junior Kristi Godfrey (West Babylon, NY/West Babylon) played a pro set at No. 5 singles and won 8-4, while sophomore Danielle O'Connell (South Amboy, NJ/St. John Vianney) outlasted Gina Meyer, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
The Cougars next match is at Ramapo College on Saturday, Sept. 25 at noon.
