TEIKYO POST EDGES COUGARS 2-1

WATERBURY, Conn. - Kian Rose's second goal of the game in the 72nd minute gave Teikyo Post a 2-1 win over Caldwell College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer match Tuesday afternoon at LaMoy Field. The loss dropped the Cougars to 1-2-2 in the CACC and 5-3-2 overall, while the Eagles improved to 2-3 in the conference and 2-10 overall.

After a scoreless first half, Rose put Teikyo Post on the scoreboard when he scored off of Beadin Odza's free kick in the 61st minute. The Cougars responded five minutes later, with freshman Christian Motte's (Lima, Peru) first collegiate goal, which was assisted by sophomore Jorge Ibarcena (Lima, Peru). But exactly six minutes after Motte's goal, Rose struck again off an Eagles' corner kick to give Teikyo Post a 2-1 lead it would not relinquish.

Freshman John Perehinec (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) made his second start in goal and made five saves, while Christopher Oullette made four saves for the Eagles.

The Cougars are back in action on Friday, Oct. 8, when they play at Bloomfield College in an important CACC match. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
