George Markey begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Caldwell University women's lacrosse program. He is in his second year as the Compliance and Student Athlete Welfare Assistant at Caldwell.
Markey comes to Caldwell from Fairleigh Dickinson University where he was the Graduate Assistant for Academics and Student-Athlete Support Services for the past two years. He assisted the Office of Academic and Student-Athlete Support Services in academic advising, including career and student development. In addition, he tracked community service hours and organized community service related events for student-athletes as well as assisted with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Prior to his time at FDU, he served as a facility and event management intern at Monmouth University. He assisted with game operations and managed student staff.
Markey was a member of the men’s lacrosse team at Chestnut Hill College from 2013-2016. He played in 46 games during four seasons with the Griffins. Markey totaled 55 points with 35 goals, 20 assists along with 22 ground balls.
Markey earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in sports management from Chestnut Hill in 2016. He graduated earlier this month from Fairleigh Dickinson with his Master’s Degree in Sports Administration.
