Casey Petrusic was named the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach and Director of Recreation Sports in September 2015 and returns for her second season in 2017.
Petrusic made a huge impact on the program in her first season as she guided the Cougars to a 5-10 overall record and 5-4 in the CACC, setting the program record for wins in a season. She guided the Cougars to the CACC Tournament for the first time in program history, where they fell to Holy Family University in the Quarterfinals. Petrusic landed the program’s first-ever CACC All-Conference selection in defenseman Amanda Timmes. Caldwell also saw their first-ever major award recipient in Rachel Lucia as CACC Rookie of the Year
In addition to her coaching duties, Petrusic oversees the recreation and intramural program for Caldwell. She is responsible for coordinating the recreation and intramural program for students, staff and faculty.
Petrusic comes to Caldwell from Rochester Institute of Technology where she was the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach and Game Management Coordinator in 2014-15. While at RIT, Petrusic was the Assistant Women’s Lacrosse for the 2015 season and supervised all home athletic events and student workers. As part of the lacrosse program, she oversaw the budget planning for the program and planned practices.
Petrusic was a four-year starter for Duquense University for their women’s lacrosse team. She played in 67 games in four seasons for the Dukes, finishing her career with 40 points. Petrusic netted 32 goals along with eight assists and 31 draw controls. She was the Atlantic-10 Conference Rookie of Year in 2010 and a two-time Director of Athletics Honor Roll in Fall 2011 and Spring 2012.
She graduated from Duquense in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology. She earned her Master’s Degree in Sports Administration in 2014.
