Ken Yokobosky enters his 12th season as head coach of the women's bowling program in 2025-26. With 436 victories, three league championships and two Coach of the Year honors, Yokobosky has cemented his place as one of the region's top coaches.
In 2023-24, the Cougars won the CACC Championships for the second year in a row. Three members of the team earned All-CACC honors including the CACC Bowler of the Year Lauren Marks, who repeated the feat in 2024-25, when Caldwell reached the CACC Tournament finals.
In the 2022-23 season, Yokobosky's squad won the inaugural CACC Championship as he earned CACC Coach of the Year honors. Significantly, the Cougars also earned the Team Sportsmanship Award and had two First Team All-CACC performers, two All-Tournament team members and the Tournament MVP.
In 2021-22, Yokobosky led the Cougars to a program-record 59 wins, earning ECC Co-Coach of the Year honors. He guided the team to the quarterfinals of the ECC Championship along with two ECC First Team All-Conference selections. Caldwell finished 12th in the final NTCA D2/D3 Poll.
In a COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season. Yokobosky guided the Cougars to a 16-12 record during the season. The Cougars finished third in the qualifying round of the East Coast Conference Championship to reach the ECC semifinals for a second consecutive time. Yokobosky's leadership earned the program two all-conference honorees and the ECC Women's Bowling Scholar Athlete of the Year.
In 2019-20, Yokobosky helped lead the Cougars to a 43-54 record, which featured a match victory over nationally ranked Vanderbilt University. The Cougars season ended early as the East Coast Conference Championships was canceled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Yokobosky guided the Cougars to the East Coast Conference Championship in 2018-19 in their first year as an associate member of the conference. The Cougars went 3-2 in the round-robin portion of the tournament and entered the double-elimination bracket play as the #3 seed. Caldwell defeated Molloy and Adelphi to reach the semifinals. The Cougars defeated defending champions and top seed Lincoln Memorial University in the semifinals and again the championship match to capture the conference’s automatic bid to the National Collegiate Women’s Bowling Championship for the first time in program history. Freshman Jenna Rapach was named the ECC Rookie of the Year as well as the ECC’s Most Outstanding Bowling for her performance in the tournament.
Caldwell faced Sacred Heart University in the play-in round for a best of three mega match. The Cougars fell short in the traditional match but won the baker total pin fall match before coming up short in the baker best of seven round. Caldwell was ranked seventh in the final National Tenpin Coaches Association DII/DIII national poll. Caldwell also earned NTCA Team All-Academic honors as well as having five bowlers named to the NTCA All-Academic Team.
As member of the Northeast Conference from 2014-2018, the Cougar bowling team was named the recipient of the Northeast Conference Winter Sportsmanship Award for three of the four years that they were member of the NEC. In 2016-17, Caldwell also earned NTCA Team All-Academic honors as well as having four bowlers named to the NTCA All-Academic Team.
Yokobosky guided Caldwell to the Northeast Conference Championships in back-to-back straight season in 2015-16 and 2016-17. In 2016-17, the Cougars, as the #6 seed, scored upset wins over St. Francis University and LIU Brooklyn to advance to their first-ever NEC Championships Final Four.
Yokobosky has been with the program since its inception in 2014-15 and in their second season notched their first Northeast Conference victory. At the NEC Championships in 2015-16, the sixth seeded Cougars drew #3 seed Fairleigh Dickinson University in the opening round and swept them 4-0 in a best of seven format. The Cougars also has their second all-conference selection in 2015-16 as Amanda Scharf was named to the All-Rookie Team. Daniele Roca was named to the NEC All-Tournament Team, a first under Yokobosky. Roca was also the first NEC All-Rookie selection in the history of the program in the Cougars inaugural season in 2014-15.
Yokobosky served as an assistant coach for Team USA from 2001 to 2010 working with both the men’s and women’s teams under legendary coach Fred Borden. During his time with the national teams, he was a part of the gold-medal men’s team at the 2006 World Championships in South Korea. He also coached the women’s team to the silver medal at the 2003 World Championships in Malaysia and the 2007 World Championships in Mexico. Along with Borden, Wichita State coach Gordon Vadakin and Team Puerto Rico head coach Jeri Edwards are fellow coaches who have influenced Yokobosky’s career.
Yokobosky, who holds a Gold coaching certification from the United States Bowling Congress, is an instructor in several bowling DVDs along with Borden, including “Bowling Fun and Fundamentals for Boys and Girls,” and “Essential Keys to Better Bowling.” He is the co-owner of Pro Image Bowling, a full-service pro shop offering coaching and camps that has locations in Rockaway Township and Elmwood Park, N.J.
Yokobosky also is an accomplished bowler, participating on the PBA Tour from 1996 to 1999. Recently, he won the 2009 PBA Eastern Regional in Lancaster, Pa., and finished second at the 2010 Eastern Regional in Lebanon, Pa. He still competes on the regional tour.
A native of Fairfield, N.J., Yokobosky is a 1991 graduate of Caldwell University with a degree in marketing. His mother, Shirley Cresci, also graduated from Caldwell in 1983. Yokobosky currently lives in Fredon, N.J., with his wife Lori and their two children Jake and Luke.
