Darnel Mangan returns as a assistant coach for the Caldwell sprint football program for his third season in 2019.
Mangan served as the wide receivers and slot backs coach during the 2017 season and is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coaches since 2018. During his first two seasons, he was coached six CSFL All-League players including 2018 First Team selection Carl Watson.Â
Prior to joining the Caldwell staff, Mangan was part of the Weequahic High School coaching staff as the offensive coordinator from 2013-2016. He moved to assistant head coach in 2016 and helped lead Weequahic to a state championship that year. Mangan oversaw two Division I players and the NJ State Player of the Year in 2013.Â
Mangan was the head football coach at Barringer High School from 2010-12. In 2012, he guided them to the post season for the first time since 1986. His program produced six Division I players and a NFL Second Round pick in the 2018 draft.Â
Mangan was also part of the defensive coaching staff four times as part of the North-South All-Star Classic and coached five times in the Robeson Classic All-Star Game.
Mangan earned his bachelor's degree in history from Kean University in 2007.Â
