Sean Begley enters his third season as head coach for the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs. In addition to his coaching duties, he oversees the strength and conditioning for the athletics department. In 2017-18, he added fitness center manager to his duties and oversees the Newman Center Fitness Center. 
In Begley's second season as head coach, he guided the men's track and field team to finish in fifth place at the CACC Championships, while the women finished in seventh. The women's track and field team was awarded the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award for the second straight season.
In his first season as head coach, Begley guided both track and field teams to a third place finish at the CACC Championships. He earned his first major conference award winner as Alexandra Greaves was named the CACC Female Track Rookie of the Year.
 
Begley was the women’s cross country and track and field assistant coach for three seasons and the men’s cross country and track & field assistant for the past two years. He coached athletes in all field events, including the jumps and throws.
 
Prior to joining the Cougars Begley spent four years as a coach for the West Milford High School track and cross country teams. A high school standout in track for West Milford, Begley attended the College of New Jersey, where he competed in the decathlon.
 
Begley graduated from TCNJ in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science.
