Evan Marques ‘16 was named as the head coach for the men’s soccer program and athletics administrator effective in August 2022 and completed his third season on this sidelines in 2024. In his administrator role, Marques serves as the Fitness Center Manager and assists in the strength and conditioning area.
In 2023, he led the team to its best overall record in years and a second straight CACC tournament quarterfinal appearance. Then in 2024 the Cougars earned their first CACC Tournament home game since 2018, and back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2007 and 2008. His winning percentage is the highest of any men's soccer coach in Caldwell's 33-year history (seven coaches).
Marques starred for four years for the Cougars from 2012-15 and served for one season as an assistant coach in 2018. He played in 62 games for the Cougars, starting 60, totaling seven points on one goal and five assists, primarily as a defender.
Marques has coaching experience at all levels of the NCAA, serving on the coaching staffs of College of Saint Elizabeth, Saint Thomas Aquinas College and New Jersey Institute of Technology. At NJIT, he was part of the coaching staff that was selected as the ASUN and Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
Marques earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Caldwell in Business Administration with a concentration in Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
