André Narvaéz, a 2004 graduate of NJIT, enters his third season as an assistant coach at Caldwell University after spending five seasons as the Highlanders first base and pitching coach and also assisted with the outfielders.
Narvaez, who coached during NJIT’s transition from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I, helped guide the 2006 Highlanders to the ECAC postseason championship and a school-record 27 wins, including a three-game sweep of the ECAC Tournament for NJIT’s third straight season with at least 20 wins and an ECAC postseason berth.
A four-year player of the NJIT's baseball program, Narvaez led the Highlanders in appearances and innings pitch for two seasons, including a 2 hit shutout of Teikyo Post in 2001.
Narvaez also coaches the brand new Fred Hill Baseball Academy’s travel team, the New Jersey Moose.
Narvaez recently served as the Director of Baseball and head coach for the 17U In the Zone Knights Travel teams, located in Flanders, New Jersey. In his last year at ITZ, Narvaez led the 17U team to two tournament championships.
Narvaez played for numerous semi-pro leagues – Met League, North Jersey Majors, etc. which traveled to West Virginia, Virginia, New York and Florida.
He currently resides with his wife, Alexandra, and daughter in Cedar Grove, NJ.
