Four Torok Goals, Two Late George Markers Push Women's Lacrosse Past Felician

Two goals and two assists for Korzevinski, one and three for Cipot Key Comeback Win

CALDWELL, N.J. -- Sophomore midfielder Jessica George (So. Brunswick, N.J.) scored the go-ahead goal with 2:49 left and added an insurance marker less than a minute later, propelling Caldwell University women's lacrosse to a thrilling 13-10 CACC victory over Felician at Kiwanis Oval on an unseasonably cool, windy Tuesday afternoon.

After the Golden Falcons (1-8, 0-4 CACC) took a 9-8 lead on goals with nine and six minutes left in the fourth, two tallies by freshman attack Addison Torok (Easton, Pa.), the second with 4:00 to play, put Caldwell (3-5, 2-3) back ahead. The Golden Falcons were up to the challenge, again tying the game with a player-down goal with 3:07 to play before George's late pair and an extra insurance marker by junior midfielder Tiana Cipot (No. Brunswick, N.J.) with 0:32 left sealed the win.

Torok finished with four goals, while George added three, Cipot had that late tally and three assists, and senior midfielder Meghan Korzevinski (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) contributed two goals and two assists.

The solid defensive effort by the Cougars was led by Cipot, who registered six ground balls and four caused turnover, while graduate defender Isabella Vitella (Roseland, N.J.) collected three of each.

Senior GK Sarahkate Schneider (Somerset, N.J.) made seven saves in the win.

The Cougars try to make it three in a row on the current homestand, concluding the home season with Senior Day against Chestnut Hill on Saturday at 10 a.m. Korzevinski, Schneider and senior GK Serena Barra (Cranford, N.J.) will be honored for their respective four-year careers at Caldwell.
