Angel Cruz-Fletcher's (Bloomfield, N.J.) long jump gold led five Cougars in the top nine in the event and freshman
Valerie Castro (Burlington Twp., N.J.) burned a new school record in the 100HH and qualified for CACC's in the 200, pacing a strong team effort by Caldwell University women's track & field at the Kean Sprint Night on Thursday evening.
Fletcher leaped a season-best 5.43m, outdistancing the field. Freshman
Marley Rudolph (Hampstead, Md.) was fourth (4.57m), freshman
Jocelyn Downing (Keene, N.H.) was sixth (4.33m), freshman
Ashley Mercado (Franklin Square, N.Y.) took eighth and soph
Sejadea Mincey (Jersey City, N.J.) finished ninth (3.62m) as CU dominated the event.
Senior
Isabella Pollock (Fair Lawn, N.J.) won the 400m at 1:02.31 for another Cougars highlight. She also was fifth in the 200 at 26.93.
Castro's 15.92 was a personal best in the 100HH, setting the CU mark, and her sprint of 26.45 placed third in the 200m and led four straight Cougars finishers.
