CALDWELL, N.J. -- It's been quite a start to the collegiate career of freshman third baseman
Justin Levine (Staten Island, N.Y.). All the slugger has done to date is hit .600 (15 for 25) on the young season, and on Thursday he drove in four of Caldwell's five runs with two home runs, including a game-tying three-run blast to dead center field in the seventh inning. Three late runs by Dominican, however, gave the Chargers an 8-5 triumph in the CACC contest played at Kiwanis Oval on Thursday afternoon.
Traliling, 5-1, Levine's solo home run right down the left field line in the fifth made it 5-2. Then in the seventh, walks by senior SS
Christian Rinick (Marlton, N.J.) and senior LF
Jimmy Kurtz (Buena, N.J.) set the stage for Levine's bomb to tie it before DUNY (8-10, 4-3) secured the win.
Freshman RF
Izaiah Robinson (Franklin Twp., N.J.) had Caldwell's other RBI on a fourth-inning sacrifice fly, and also made several standout defensive plays in right.
The Cougars head to Wilmington for a doubleheader with the Wildcats on Saturday, then host WU on Sunday at noon at Kiwanis Oval.
