TAMPA, Fla. -- Sophomore catcher Amanda Preston (Warwick, R.I.) had three more hits, raising her batting average to a team-best .375, and soph 3B Lindsay Oller (So. Plainfield, N.J.) had two hits as Caldwell softball completed its Florida swing at University of Tampa (15-5) with 6-1 and 7-1 defeats to the host Spartans at Naimoli Family Softball Field on Friday afternoon.

In the opener, Preston's RBI single in the sixth plated freshman LF Melissa Lugo (Gilroy, Calif.). Preston had two of the Cougars' six hits in the contest. Graduate righty Jayden Hill (Geneva, N.Y.) tossed a scoreless inning of relief.

In the nightcap, the Cougars' run came in the seventh, when sophomore shortstop Sam DiDonna (Staten Island, N.Y.) plated Oller with a single. Sophomore RHP Haleigh Fisher (Smyrna, N.Y.) fired 1 2/3 frames of scoreless relief.

Caldwell (1-11) returns North and will take on Chestnut Hill on Tuesday in Philadelphia in the CACC opening doubleheader.
