Schubert-Brown Looks For Big Senior Season for Caldwell Volleyball

Hitter is Two Kills Away from 500 Career; Presidents' Levell Academic Honor Roll, Academic All-Distict Performer Readies for PT Doctorate Program

Schubert-Brown BallCALDWELL, N.J. -- On Thursday, Caldwell University volleyball opens its 20th season since reviving the program in 2006, and one of its most prolific players during that time is senior Wyette Schubert-Brown (Chatsworth, N.J.), who has been a stalwart hitter and Academic All-District performer and this year was named a team captain.

Schubert-Brown is on the precipice of the top 10 in Cougars history in kills and has been the team's top offensive performer for most of her Caldwell career. She took a few minutes to talk to CaldwellAthletics.com about the upcoming season and her future plans on the latest Cougar Captain's Corner.

What is your main goal for your team this season, both on and off the field?
My main goal for Caldwell Volleyball on the court is to make it to the CACC Tournament. This achievement would help the overall future of the program reach new heights, and I would love to be able to do that in my senior year. This team is extremely capable of doing it. My main goal off the court is to keep the high academic standards we have set for the program. Since collegiate volleyball will not be around forever, it is imperative that the entire team continues to perform well in the classroom.

What is a team motto or a core value that will drive your team this season?
I believe this new season and new team will motivate everyone. We have eight new incoming freshmen who have immense potential to make immediate impacts, and everyone will be competing to earn their spot on the court. This natural competition will make us better and allow us to compete at the highest level we know we can.

What is the one thing you want fans to know about your team?
I want the Caldwell fans to know that we plan to shock the conference and have competitive games. This new determination and drive to win will be fun to watch!

Who is a player on your team that we should be watching out for this season, and why?
The player to watch this year on Caldwell Volleyball is junior outside hitter Andrea Enabosi. Unfortunately, Drea tore her ACL during the second set of our first game last season, after performing incredibly in the first set. She has been working diligently to get back on the court, and she will be back even better this year. She is an extraordinarily talented player with a powerful arm swing and is a teammate who brings tons of passion to the court. We are ecstatic about having her back with us this season.

What is one personal goal you're striving for this season?
I have some big goals for myself this season. One goal is to do my best to stay healthy so I can be on the court and be the best player I can be. I want to be an impactful and well-rounded outside hitter who can make the offense better. I always strive to improve my statistics from the year before and get better each year.

After you graduate, what are you hoping to do next?
I am planning to attend a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. I am currently applying and will know where I am heading soon.
