Marybeth Zimos (Hicksville, N.Y.) have been named to the 2025 Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for women's lacrosse, the organization announced today.
The four are part of the At-Large division, which incorporates a multitude of NCAA sports not included in other individual nomination programs (e.g. basketball, soccer, softball, etc.). Bowling and lacrosse are two sports sponsored by Caldwell Athletics that are eligible for the at-large selections.
For Johnson and Kelty, the selection marks their second appearances, respectively, on the CSC Academic All-District At-Large team for women's lacrosse. It is the first women's lacrosse honor for Vitella, who has been a member of the Academic All-District women's soccer squad in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Johnson, a criminal justice major with a 3.78 cumulative GPA, scored a goal and added two assists in 26 games, all starts, since joining the Caldwell women's lacrosse team in 2024. The defender also collected 32 ground balls, caused 22 turnovers and secured 11 draw controls as a Cougar. She previously competed for the Caldwell women's soccer team in 2023. She is also a member of the 2025 CACC All-Academic Team and two-time CACC Academic Honor Roll honoree.
Kelty, a curriculum and instruction major with a 3.77 GPA, tallied 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points in her two years as a graduate transfer in 2024 and 2025. She also nabbed 21 ground balls, caused nine turnovers and collected 31 draw controls. She is also a two-time CACC All-Academic Team and CACC Academic Honor Roll performer.
Vitella, a communications and media studies major with a 3.95 GPA, joined the women lacrosse team this season after starring for four years for Caldwell women's soccer. She earned CACC All-Academic honors this year after starting all 10 games in which she appeared on defense, grabbing three ground balls and causing four turnovers.
Zimos, a criminal justice major with a 3.62 GPA, stood out on defense for the Cougars for the second straight year. She has nabbed nine ground balls and caused nine turnovers in 26 games, including 23 starts, in her two seasons in red and white. She also earned CACC All-Academic honors this year and is a CACC Academic Honor Roll member.
The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes At-Large honors in four divisions- NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. The four Cougars, along with the other Academic All-District honorees, are now considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
