CALDWELL, N.J. – Four home games, including a matchup with the 2024 Champions, Army, and a season-ending road contest at Navy, highlight the eight-game Caldwell University Sprint Football schedule, announced today by second-year head coach
Louie Matsakis and the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL).
The Cougars kick off their season 100 days from today's announcement, on Friday, September 19 against Penn in Philadelphia at 7 p.m. After the opener, they will return home to host Chestnut Hill on Friday, September 27 at 6 p.m.
The Cougars also host St. Thomas Aquinas on Oct. 11 (1 p.m.), Army on Oct. 26 (6 p.m.) and Cornell on Nov. 1 (4 p.m.).
Caldwell visits Mansfield on Oct. 4 (2 p.m.), Molloy on Oct. 17 (7 p.m.) and Navy in the season finale on Nov. 7 (6 p.m).
For the first time, the CSFL will feature eight regular-season games per team, with each of the league's nine teams playing each other once. The team with the best record will be crowned champion.
Caldwell, in its eighth season of CSFL competition, finished 3-4 last year in Coach Matsakis's first season at the helm. Rising sophomore QB
Josh Smith was named 2024 CSFL Rookie of the Year and seven other Cougars earned All-CSFL honors. Eighteen Caldwell players were selected to the CSFL All-Academic team.
