Christian Rinick (Marlton, N.J.) each had career days at the plate as Caldwell baseball (4-1) pulled away from the CSI Dolphins (2-9) 13-6 at SIUH Community Park on Friday night.
James hit a big RBI double in the top of the 4th that drove in senior RF
Liam Lombardi (Stony Point, N.Y.) and tied the score at 1. In the next frame, he came through with a bases-clearing double that gave the Cougars a 4-2 lead. James finished with a career-high 5 RBIs.
Rinick had a game-high 4 hits as the lead off hitter.
CU added some insurance runs in the 9th after CSI cut the deficit to 9-5.

Stephen Young Jr. (Middlesex, N.J.), redshirt freshman third baseman
Devon Cass (New City, N.Y.) and junior catcher
Chris Hopf (Middlesex, N.J.) all had two hits. Young Jr. drove in two RBIs.
Freshman left handed pitcher
Jared Jacobus (Flemington, N.J.) earned his first career win (1-0). He struck out eight batters.
Caldwell will host CSI in a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 3:30 PM.
