UNIONDALE, NY -- Junior DH
Stephen Young Jr. (Middlesex, N.J.) and senior first baseman
Liam James (Roseland, N.J.) led Caldwell baseball with two RBI apiece, but Caldwell baseball's rally fell short against #22 ranked Molloy (6-2) at Mitchel Field.
Both offenses exploded in the late innings. Molloy plated 7 runs in the bottom of the sixth and Caldwell (2-1) scored four in the 7th and 8th innings combined.
James blasted a 2-run home run to cut the deficit to 8-6 in the top of the 7th.
Young Jr. hit an RBI single in the 8th which got the Cougars to within 1 but Molloy would tack on a run on a balk to give themselves a two run cushion.
