Jah'Nel Lewis (Jersey City, N.J.) have been named to the 2024 Collegiate Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for women's basketball, the organization announced today.
It is the second such honor for DeMauro, who was also selected in 2023-24, her first year at Caldwell following her graduate transfer from Rider University, where she was a three-time MAAC All-Academic team with the Broncs.
Aguilar, a sport management major with a 3.70 GPA, averaged 9.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg and 1.6 apg in her first year at Caldwell after transferring from FDU-Madison. She scored in double figures in 10 games, with a high of 19 vs. Pace on 11/8.
Corbett, a mathematics/education major with a 3.90 GPA, was named the CACC Defensive Player of the Year and the league's Student-Athlete of the Month for February. She led the CACC and ranks in the top 20 nationally in steals (2.9/game), regularly guarding the opponent's best offensive player. She averaged 5.4 points and 6.2 rpg.
DeMauro, earning her Master's in Special Education, averaged 6.0 ppg and 5.3 rpg. She grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds in Caldwell's CACC Tournament quarterfinal win over Chestnut Hill on 3/4 and scored 10 or more points in four games during the season.
Lewis, a First Team All-CACC, All-CACC Tournament and D2CCA Second Team All-East Region selection, led the CACC in scoring (18.2 ppg) and ranked fifth in steals (1.8) and eighth in assists (2.8). In just her sophomore year, her 992 points ranks 13th in Caldwell's Division II history (2003-present).
The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The four Cougars, along with the other Academic All-District honorees, are now considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced later this month.
