W. CALDWELL, N.J. -- Junior goalkeeper Edwin Himmel-Maines (Delta, Pa.) made 21 saves in his Caldwell debut, freshman attack Nicco Fasolli (Totowa, N.J.) and junior midfield Zakkery Glatfelter (New Oxford, Pa.) had a goal each as Caldwell men's lacrosse opened the season with a 27-2 defeat to Assumption (2-0) at Essex Valley Field on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore defender James McCarthy (Middletown, N.J.) gobbled up a team-best six ground ball while senior defender Angelo Drake (Manville, N.J.) grabbed five.

The Cougars' goals were back-to-back markers at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarters. Fasolli's goal was assisted by freshman midfielder Conor Pinkham (Fair Lawn, N.J.), while Glatfelter took a pass from sophomore midfielder Evan Uriguen (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) for his tally.

The Cougars visit Molloy on March 5 in their next action.
