WEST CHESTER, N.Y. -- Freshman forward
Terence Thompson (Rochester, N.Y.) secured his first career double-double, putting in 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, as Caldwell men's basketball fell in a non-league contest at West Chester, 89-68, at Hollinger Field House on Wednesday night.
Senior guard
Melvin Evans (Bronx, N.Y.) paced all scorers with 18 points for the Cougars (0-3), who also had double-digit scoring efforts from junior guard
Todd Rochelle (Laurelton, N.Y.), who scored 13, and sophomore guard
Jaryn Bull (Bronx, N.Y.), who delivered a career-high 10.
The Cougars edged to within 29-27 on a layup by Rochelle with 5:51 left in the first half, but the Rams (2-1) would use a 12-5 run to extend to a nine-point halftime lead.Â
WCU put the game away in the first four minutes of the second half, posting a 14-4 start after the intermission.
Thompson added three blocked shots to his night, and freshman forward
Markeis Isley (Jersey City, N.J.) had five points, four rebounds and four assists.
