HACKENSACK, N.J. — Freshman Emily Tarsio (Newburgh, N.Y.) averaged 183.6, including games of 223 and 217, and junior Alex Sardis (Milltown, N.J.) averaged 181.8 with three games over 195, pacing Caldwell bowling to two victories in four matches in traditional play on the first day of action at the FDU N.J. Open at Bowler City on Friday.
The Cougars earned wins over Adelphi, 895-800, and host FDU, 875-872. Tarsio's 223 keyed the victory over the Panthers and Sardis's 201 was the high mark in the narrow triumph over the Knights.
