BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Junior 2B Grace Vondracek (Odessa, N.Y.) went 3-for-3, but the Caldwell softball season ended with a 5-1 defeat in the opening round of the CACC Tournament at Seaside Park. 

UB scored a run in the first, with the 1-0 score holding until the fifth when an error scored two more to give the hosts a 3-0 lead. Vondracek scampered home on a passed ball in the sixth after reaching on a single, stealing second and advancing to third on a groundout. But the manufactured run would be as close as the Cougars (25-22) would get. 

Vondracek finished the season batting .493, currently tops in the CACC, and top five nationally at last NCAA update. 

Graduate righthander Madison Burns (East Greenbush, N.Y.) went the distance in a good effort in the circle for the Cougars.
