IRVING, Texas -- Tackle
Micah Chudkowski (Sayreville, N.J.), quarterback
Frank DeMaio (Nutley, N.J.) and defensive back
Joe Higgins (Haskell, N.J.) have been named to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF)'s 2024 Hampshire Honor Society.
The distinction goes to senior college football players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA and sprint football who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers.
Chudkowski started every game for the Cougars in his senior season, after missing all of 2022 following a serious automobile accident. The Health Sciences major has a cumulative 3.34 GPA and plans to go to chiropractic school upon graduation.
DeMaio graduates as Caldwell's all-time leader in every passing category, including yards (2774), completions (204), attempts (461) and touchdowns (25). This year he completed 66 passes for 830 yards and eight touchdowns in gaining his second straight CSFL Honorable Mention and CSFL All-Academic honors. The Education/Social Studies major has a 3.51 GPA.
Higgins was a reserve member of the Cougars' strong defensive backfield in 2023 and four-year member of the program. He is a communications and media major looking towards a career in video production and broadcasting, and has a 3.20 GPA.
The Hampshire Honor Society represents an important component in the organization's rich history as an innovator in promoting the scholar-athlete ideal, which began in 1959 with the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Awards.Â
