NEW YORK -- Caldwell University sophomore guard Darnell Evans (Deer Park, N.Y.) grabbed another honor today, named to the First Team by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association for Division II .

Evans, a Second Team NABC All-Region, First Team All-CACC and second team D2CCA All-Region selection, ranked first in CACC and fifth in NCAA with 23.5 ppg, He also placed 1st in the CACC and 11th in NCAA with 2.2 steals per game. He was four-time CACC Player of the Week and earned three Honor Rolls... He notched a career-high 42 points at AIC 11/26 and matched his career best with 10 assists to go with 22 points, seven rebounds vs. Wilmington.

The 91st MBWA All-Met Haggerty Awards dinner is scheduled for Thursday evening, April 18, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, N.Y.
