Christian Petino Jr. (Flemington, N.J.) had three hits and three other Cougars rapped out two each as the Cougars scored in the first five innings in a 14-6 defeat to Barry at the Palm Beach Classic.
The Cougars (1-4) tallied twice in the first on a two-run single by junior LF
Liam Lombardi (Stony Point, N.Y.), adding single runs in the second on a sacrifice fly by senior right fielder
Noah Putney (Glassboro, N.J.), in the third on a Putney single, in the fourth on a run-scoring grounder by sophomore catcher
Christopher Bayo (Miami) and a single by Petino, to build a 5-1 lead.
The Buccaneers would chip away and eventually take the lead for good in the sixth for the win.

Danny Keane (Union, N.J.) was sharp in his first start for Caldwell, permitting five hits, no walks and two earned runs over five strong innings of work.
The Cougars continue play in Florida with a pair of contests against Bentley, on Thursday at 12:30 p..m. and Friday at 10 a.m.
