Jayden Hill (Geneva, N.Y.) earned her first collegiate victory as Caldwell Softball (4-4) defeated Saint Michael's, 12-1, and McKendree, 3-2, at THE Spring Games on Wednesday in the penultimate day of its Spring Break Florida trip.
In the opener, the Cougars put up a five-run third inning for the early lead against St. Michael's (4-5), the key blows a two run single by Vondracek followed by a two-run home run by Tavaska. The Cougars added two in the fifth on an RBI triple by 3B

The Cougars padded their lead with another five-spot in the seventh, with RBI hits by senior LF
Chloe Pocceschi (Annandale, N.J.) and freshman CF Mackenzie Nazionale (Ontario, Calif.) and two-run single by Vondracek closing out the 12-run outburst.
HIll allowed just one unearned run, permitting just six hits and walking one while fanning two.
In the nightcap, the Cougars gritted out a win over a tough McKendree University squad (16-9) out of the GLVC, erasing an early 2-0 deficit with a two-run first, keyed by Quinn's RBI single, and took the lead in the third on an RBI triple by Tavaska, plating Vondracek with the eventual winning run.

Tavaska finished the day with a combined four hits, three RBI and two stolen bases, while Vondracek (four RBI, stolen base) and Quinn (two RBI, two stolen bases) also had four hits apiece.
The Cougars conclude their Florida trip with a pair of game on Thursday, vs. Northern State at 10:15 a.m. and New Haven at 12:30 p.m., before returning north for a pair of doubleheaders vs. Assumption at Caldwell Athletic Field on Saturday (1 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m.).
