Lucy Coogan (Kilkenny, Ireland) had a career-high 34 points and soph guard
Amyah Bray (Manchester, N.J.) popped in a career-best 18 leading Caldwell women's basketball to an 83-61 triumph over Wilmington in a non-league contest at the Newman Center on Tuesday.
The Cougars broke open a close one in the third, extending a five-point edge at 57-52 with under 3:00 left in the period to a 13-point bulge by the start of the fourth, keyed by two straight threes by Bray followed by three straight free throws by the sharpshooter for a 68-55 lead.
Wilmington (1-19, 1-10) would get no closer than 12 the rest of the way.
Coogan grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double, and freshman
Brianna Carey (Clifton Park, N.Y.) had 16, including three threes for Caldwell (6-14, 2-8).
The Cougars next visit Goldey-Beacom for a CACC matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Delaware.
