Darnell Evans (Deer Park, N.Y.) pumped in a game-high 32 points and junior forward
Derrick Bueno (Palisades Park, N.J.) notched his sixth double-double of the season as Caldwell men's basketball built a double-digit first half lead and went on to a workmanlike 85-70 triumph over Georgian Court in CACC action on Saturday at the Newman Center.
Evans had 20 of his points before the intermission, including a pair of three pointers and an an assist on a dunk by freshman forward
Jordan Summers (Bound Brook, N.J.) in the final 1:36 of the period to extend CU's lead to 49-33 at the break.
Georgian Court (2-18, 0-9 CACC) would hang in there through much of the second half, getting to with 13 points at 60-47 eight minutes into the stanza and again at 76-63 with under five minutes left. But the Cougars (9-10, 5-5 CACC) would use a layup by Evans, two free throws by Bueno and later a pair from the charity stripe by
Landon Shivers to finish off the Lions.

The Cougars next play a non-conference game against Wilmington (normally a CACC opponent) on Tuesday at 7:30 at the Newman Center.
