Darnell Evans (Deer Park, N.Y.) and his cousin
Melvin Evans (Bronx, N.Y.) combined for 44 points and nine assists, helping Caldwell men's basketball to an 85-61 pull-away victory at Chestnut Hill (7-16) in a non-league matchup at Sorgenti Arena. Darnell scored 26 and dished our four assists while Melvin posted a career-high 18 points and contributed five rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Jordan Summers (Bound Brook, N.J.) to extend to a 16-point bulge at 60-44. After the hosts fought back to within 11 at 67-56, a 6-1 mini-run led to a 12-0 run to finish the game as the Cougars (11-11) held the Griffins scoreless for the final 4:11.
In their third win in their last four, the Cougars got strong efforts from junior guard
Mark Heber (Paterson, N.J.), who had 11 points on four of six shooting from the floor, including two of three from beyond the three point arc, and a team-high seven rebounds from sophomore guard
Kirk Parsons (Newark, N.J.).
The Cougars continued their hot shooting, making 32 of 57 (56.1%) from the floor, including seven of 15 from three point range.
The game was a non-conference contest against Chestnut Hill, also a CACC member.
Caldwell returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Bridgeport at 7:30 at the Newman Center.
