The Cougars took the first set, a Schubert-Brown kill closing it out. After the hosts (7-18, 4-9 CACC) took the second and third sets, Caldwell stormed back to win an exciting fourth set, 29-27, rallying to win the final three points, two on kills by Schubert-Brown and junior hitter/setter
Jordan Mack (Yorba Linda, Calif.), who contributed eight kills to the Cougars attack, matching senior hitter
Natalie Piper (Long Beach, Calif.) on offense.
Defensively, the Cougars (1-23, 1-12 CACC) were paced by Soph libero
Ava Railton (Santa Rose Beach, Fla.) with 15 digs.
The game also marked the return to action for Schubert-Brown and Piper, who each had missed the past seven matches with injuries.
Caldwell returns to action Saturday at Jefferson before returning to the Newman Center for its final home game of the season, Senior Night vs. Bloomfield on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
